2018 Toyotas Will Get New Second-Generation Safety Suite

By Ray Prince Toyota has unveiled its second-generation Safety Technology Package, Safety Sense.
Safety Sense is Toyota’s active driver assistance system to be featured in select Toyota models, beginning in mid-2018. This suite comprises of new safety technologies focuses on three categories related to accident prevention: frontal collisions, lane departure, and nighttime driving.
Its latest, updated pre-collision system is now able to detect pedestrians in front of a vehicle both day and night, with bicyclist detection during the day, enabling deceleration. The range of speed in which Safety Sense can detect them is 6 to 49 mph, the same numbers as the previous iteration.
