205-MW Bright Stalk Wind Farm in Illinois now up and running

By WPED Staff Construction was recently completed at EDP Renewables’ Bright Stalk Wind Farm, a 205-MW project located northeast of Bloomington-Normal in McLean County, Illinois, at the end of 2019. The wind farm is now delivering enough clean, renewable energy to annually power more than 73,000 average Illinois homes.
Bright Stalk represents a capital investment of more than $300 million and will pay up to $2.6 million per year in local taxes, which will contribute to and benefit McLean County’s schools, roads and other important public services. Millions more dollars will also be paid out as an additional source of income to local farmers
