Acciona energizes 198-MW La Chalupa wind farm in Texas

By WPED Staff Acciona has begun the process of energizing wind turbines at La Chalupa in Cameron County, Texas. When fully operational, the wind farm will be Acciona’s largest U.S. asset at 198 MW, and will push the company’s U.S. portfolio over 1 GW.
La Chalupa is the company’s 10th wind farm in the United States, now bringing Acciona’s total U.S. wind capacity to 1,064 MW. The project is equipped with 63 Nordex AWP 3150 wind turbines.
