By Jon LeSage Acura is ready to bring its first-ever hybrid SUV to dealers next month.
Deliveries of the 2017 MDX Sport Hybrid will start in early April. Built on the conventional MDX SH-AWD, it will start at $51,960, just $1,500 over the gasoline-only version.
The luxury brand is targeting customers who want it all – performance, refinement, utility, and fuel economy. Power and performance come from three electric motors, 7-speed dual clutch transmission, an advanced Electro Servo braking system, MDX Sport Hybrid-exclusive Active Damper technology, and an expanded-range Integrated Dynamics System with four modes including the new SPORT+ mode.
