Appeals Court rules against Fairbank wind farm #IA

By National Wind Watch FAIRBANK – The Iowa Court of Appeals dealt a blow Wednesday to three wind turbines built just east of Fairbank. The appeals court upheld a Fayette County District Court ruling that Mason Wind and Optimum Renewables built the wind energy towers in violation of the county zoning ordinance. The turbine developers, which completed the three 445-foot wind towers with an estimated cost of $11 million while the appeals were still pending, now face a court ruling to remove them.
