BMW Passes 100,000 Mark on Electric Cars Sold Worldwide

By Jon LeSage Since the launch of the BMW i3 in November 2013, BMW has sold more than 100,000 all-electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles around the world, according to a company press release.
As for the breakdown, BMW said that the i3 accounted for more than 60,000 of the 100,000-plus units sold. That makes it the most successful electric car in the premium compact segment, according to BMW.
BMW says that the i8 plug-in hybrid ranks number one among electrified sports cars. More than 10,000 units have been delivered since the i8’s launch in the middle of 2014.
