BMW’s Tesla Model 3 Competitor to Have Solid State Battery, 435-mile Range

By Chad Kirchner Tesla’s longest-range Model 3 can travel 310 miles on a single charge, but BMW said its competitor will have 435 miles of range when it goes on sale in 2021.
Called the iNext, and based on the Next 100 concept, the new BMW will have all the features that the Tesla Model 3 has, including autonomous driving technology. But in order to reach the mileage target, BMW will need to improve the density of its batteries while also reducing the size and weight of the packs.
