Colorado town pledges 100% renewables by 2025

By Michelle Froese Nederland vote for 100% renewables shortly after the cities of Orlando, Florida, and Nevada City, California, established similar goals.
The City Council of Nederland, Colorado unanimously voted to power the town with 100% clean, renewable energy by 2025. According to the Sierra Club, this makes Nederland the fourth city in Colorado and the 42nd city in the United States to make this commitment.
Nederland joins the Colorado communities of Pueblo, Boulder, and Aspen that have also adopted a 100% clean energy goal. Transitioning to renewables is critical for Rocky Mountain towns, such as Nederland, which are already facing the effects of climate
