Daimler, Blue Bird, IC Bus introduce electric school buses at NAPT

By mmillikin Three major school bus manufacturers—Daimler subsidiary Thomas Built Buses, Blue Bird and Navistar subsidiary IC Bus—introduced battery-electric school buses at the recent National Association for Pupil Transportation Annual Conference and Trade Show in Columbus, Ohio (NAPT). Two (Thomas Built Buses and Blue Bird) use an electric powertrain from Efficient Drivetrains, Inc. (EDI); the third, IC Bus, uses a common Volkswagen Group electric drivetrain from Volkswagen Truck & Bus.
