Mercedes-AMG is adding to its lineup with a new series of AMG 53 models. They will get a 3.0-liter inline-six with a 48-volt EQ Boost micro-hybrid system that will add a little power, a lot of torque, and will improve fuel economy.
The new CLS 53, E53 Coupe, and E 53 Cabriolet are new models, sitting between the E 400 cars and the big-V8 AMG 63 models. They offer increased performance, but they also contribute toward Mercedes-Benz’ plans to electrify at least 50 passenger cars by 2022.
