By Evan Williams Mercedes-Benz has announced that the first of its new line of EQ-branded electric vehicles will start production in 2019, starting with the EQC. Luxury-class (Mercedes code for bigger) models will follow.
Thomas Geier, plant manager for the site, said that Rastatt will be “the center of competence for the production of new compact EQ models.” The first cars will actually roll off of the assembly line at a different plant in Bremen, however, which is currently home to C-Class models including the GLC SUV.
