New ‘Excel 15’ small-wind turbine generates more energy at a lower LCOE

By Michelle Froese In total, U.S. wind turbines in distributed applications have eclipsed an installed capacity of more than 934-MW – from more than 75,000 turbines across all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Distributed wind is used at or near where it is generated, and has gained a strong footing in the marketplace among commercial, industrial, and utility customers.
Bergey’s Excel 15 is a small wind turbine intended for residential and commercial use. It is 45% more efficient and produces 85% more energy than other, similarly priced turbines.
