Pittsburgh May See Self-Driving Ubers in 2019

By Ray Prince Self-driving Uber cabs may hit Pittsburgh’s streets in mid-2019.
At Bloomberg’s #TheYearAhead global economic forum event in Davos, Switzerland, Uber CEO Dara Khosrowshahi made the remarks while speaking to John Micklethwait, Bloomberg’s editor-in-chief.
During the chat, Khosrowshahi also described how Uber users would have the option of choosing between self-driving vehicle service or a human driver, with a launch plan of self-driving cars constituting 5 percent of all rides before eventually increasing in number. The choice of autonomous or a human driver would depend on various factors, including but not limited to the completeness of area mapping and favorable weather conditions.
