By Stephen Elmer Tesla has announced that for its new customers, the company’s network of Supercharger stations will no longer be free.
For all those who order a Tesla after January 1, 2017, only 400 kWh (about 1,000 miles) of Supercharging credits will be provided for free each year. Beyond that, Tesla says that there will be a “small fee to Supercharge which will be charged incrementally and cost less than the price of filling up a comparable gas car.”
