Toyota Research Institute to Show Off New Automated Driving Research Vehicle at CES

By Ray Prince Toyota Research Institute, a subsidiary of Toyota, is set to unveil a new automated driving research vehicle at this month’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
Developed at Toyota’s Prototype Development Center, its research vehicle will be used to demonstrate its new capabilities in the areas of automated driving.
It will carry Platform 3.0, the automaker’s next-generation suite that improves upon the Luminar LiDAR platform, a four-scanner configuration with new perceptive abilities, including 360-degree periphery capture with a longer-range detection of 200 meters.
This improves upon Luminar’s past-generation, forward-only view.
