Vans headquarters includes 1-MW solar carport for 50% of energy needs

By Kathie Zipp The Vans corporate headquarters in Costa Mesa has received the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED Platinum Certification, the highest standard for sustainable buildings in the world, making the new Vans headquarters one of the most sustainable buildings in Orange County.
The new headquarters comes complete with a 1-MW carport solar array and more than 4,000 solar panels, providing approximately 50% of the building’s energy needs, preventing 440 metric tons of CO2 emissions per year.
