Vestas opens new wind R&D and design center in Portugal

By Michelle Froese Vestas is opening an engineering design and R&D center in Porto, Portugal, to further strengthen its global setup, underlining its industry investments in wind research and development. The center will be responsible for developing core technology for Vestas’ product portfolio.
The center is part of Vestas’ R&D organization, intended to expand the company’s global reach, which already has sites in the UK, Norway, Germany, India, and the company headquarters in Aarhus, Denmark.
Vestas has begun recruiting for the new R&D center, which is expected to employ at least 80 people by the end of 2017 and several 100 engineers when fully ramped
