By Michelle Froese With reference to Vestas Wind Systems A/S’ company announcement, Vestas has received a firm and unconditional order from MidAmerican Energy Company, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Energy. The contract is for 170, V110-2.0 MW turbines for the Wind XI project. The order includes previously purchased PTC-qualifying components.
The wind turbines will be manufactured at Vestas’ Colorado factories and delivered in the second quarter 2018.
The Wind XI project consists of multiple sites in Iowa that will be placed into service between 2017 and 2019.When fully operational, the Wind XI project will ensure the utility generates 85% of its retail energy load from
